WHO IS CHRISTINE LEE?

Christine Lee is a Korean-Canadian musician currently based in Vancouver. Her versatile and energetic style is influenced by her musical theatre background and her lived experience in South Korea, New York, and Vancouver.

We spoke to Christine over the summer for an “FTR Does” episode. Then last week we chatted with her again, this time to reflect on her 2025 and get into what to expect from her in 2026!

HOW WAS 2025?

As an artist, you always want to have a little bit of safety net. But I think that can be a distraction sometimes from really going full throttle for what you want.

So this was a year where I was like, You know what? If I don't pursue music full time the way I've been dreaming about, I’ll never do it.

I decided to leave my job as a dance studio manager in July. Even if I'm not successful as an artist, I want to be able to look back and say, there was that time I went all in.

I think, if anything, this is the year to invest, and take some L’s, and make some sacrifices.”

WHAT’S NEW?

“I feel like I'm slowly yet surely getting back to the roots of who I am, just as a person, and even my singing style.

There’s some momentum of really finding who Christine Lee is as an artist. I’m feeling more confident standing on my own instead of constantly making references to other artists.”

WHAT’S COMING UP IN 2026?

“I have another song that I'm producing. It's gonna be, like, imagine a musical theatre kid making an r&b song.

I'm just more focused on maintaining the level of storytelling and theatrical elements. It's a ballad, well gospel ballad. So it's gonna be a song that I can really sing!

OH and I started DJing! :D”

“Yeah! I've been enjoying it so much... when I was starting out, it was a confidence boost! I was like, Oh my God, I know so much more than I think I do! So I'm like, oh, I should have become a DJ a long time ago.”
